How these figures are calculated

Annual figures cover a full 12-month model. Average monthly savings are annual savings divided by 12; actual savings vary by season.

The draft model uses a full 12 months of sunshine records for South East and Central Southern England, solar geometry at latitude 51°, unshaded horizontal panels, and 14% system losses. Monthly sunshine is spread evenly across each month and used to estimate solar radiation; sunshine hours are not treated as hours at rated panel output.

Household use is assumed to be 11.8kWh each day, with morning and evening demand. Your actual use may produce substantially different savings. All kits are modelled with an 800W household output limit.

Battery results assume 90% of the selected nominal capacity is usable (2.592kWh for SuperStore or 4.522kWh for MegaStore), 90% round-trip efficiency and a controller that can charge the battery from surplus solar power while supplying the home. These equipment capabilities are assumed for this draft calculation and will be checked before launch. Battery storage shifts electricity to another time; it does not generate extra electricity.

Illustrative guide only. Figures use regional weather records and an assumed household usage profile; they are not guaranteed savings. Actual results depend on location, weather, panel position, shading, controller and battery performance, electricity use and tariff. Savings use your entered unit price and exclude standing charges, export payments, purchase costs and financing. Battery and controller assumptions require manufacturer confirmation.
